• Monitor your social media feeds in the background.
• Collect personal information such as your name, email, or IP address (unless you sign up for Truth Pro).
• Sell or share your data with advertisers.

2. Information We Process

When you click the "Check" button on a post, use the right-click menu, or type into our extension popup, Truth Checker reads only the specific text you selected or clicked on. This targeted text is temporarily sent to our AI provider (Google Gemini) to perform the live fact-check.

3. Local Storage

To make the extension work seamlessly, we store small pieces of data locally on your own browser (using Chrome Local Storage). This includes:

• Your daily usage count (to manage free tier limits).
• Your preferred language settings.

This data stays on your device and is not uploaded to our servers.

4. Third-Party Services

Truth Checker uses Google's Generative AI API (Gemini) to process text and conduct live web searches. By using the extension, you agree to allow the text you explicitly choose to verify to be processed by Google's API. For more information, please review Google's Privacy Policy.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by updating the date at the top of this page or through an alert in the extension.
